Frequently asked questions

Our frying pans are named and measured in centimeters, where the measurement refers to the diameter across the top inner edges.

This is a standard practice to make it easier to find the right accessories, such as lids, which are also measured according to the internal diameter.

Additional specifications for our product sizes can usually be found on the individual product pages, where detailed measurements are provided.

Our frying pans are designed to maintain their shape and quality over time. They are made of stainless steel and aluminum, providing them with strength and durability. However, it is not recommended to expose them to sudden temperature changes, such as rinsing them with cold water immediately after use. It is best to let them cool naturally before cleaning.

We have carefully ensured that our products are robust enough to withstand the challenges they may face in the kitchen. Therefore, our warranty covers any changes in shape or structure, including dents that may occur during normal use.

Our non-stick coating is 100% free from fluorinated substances.

The hybrid coating consists of a ceramic composition made from natural materials – primarily silica (sand) – forming a clay-like structure.

The coating works in harmony with the metal of the pan to provide a durable, chemical-free non-stick experience.

Zero products contain no coating and are made of hardened stainless steel.

Common features of both frying pans:

• Free from PFC and PFAS
• Contains no fluorinated substances or harmful chemicals

What do the different terms mean?

PFAS: A collective term for many fluorinated substances.

This includes both banned/hazardous substances and those still legally used and not considered harmful.

PTFE (Teflon): The world’s most widely used non-stick coating.

It is a fluorine-based substance and therefore part of the PFAS family.

PFOA / PFOS: Two particularly dangerous substances that were banned many years ago.

They also belong to the PFAS family.

PFOA / PFOS: Two particularly dangerous substances that were banned many years ago.

They also belong to the PFAS family.

The handles do not get hot during normal use on the stove. However, note that the handles will become hot if the pan has been in the oven, so it is best to use an oven mitt or potholders to hold the pan or pot.

Ceramic coatings are primarily made of silica (sand), which forms a type of clay that works together with the metal of the pan.

This collaboration provides a completely chemical-free non-stick experience.

The ceramic coating therefore ensures that the product is free from PFC and PFAS.

That means it contains no fluorinated substances or chemicals of any kind.

We want to ensure that your experience with our frying pans and pots is as smooth as possible. Here are some tips to achieve the best results with the non-stick coating:

1. Start by thoroughly cleaning your pan before using it for the first time.
2. Preheat the pan for a few minutes on low to medium heat before adding food. This helps to maximize the non-stick properties. We recommend low to medium heat to preserve the quality of the coating. Our frying pans are designed to absorb heat more efficiently, so use lower heat settings than usual. You can add a small amount of oil or butter, but make sure to preheat the pan as described above before adding any fat.
3. When cooking sticky foods like eggs, a little patience is required. To achieve the perfect egg in an ONYX COOKWARE™ frying pan without butter or oil, use low temperatures and allow the egg to cook without constant stirring. If your food does not release easily from the pan, let it cook a little longer until it is fully done, after which it will loosen more easily.
4. Clean the pan carefully after use with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge or brush.

These tips will help you get the most out of your frying pan or pot. With a little practice, you will soon master the use of your pan and achieve excellent results.

No, it is not necessary to use fat or oil on our frying pans.

Yes, our hybrid frying pans and pots can be used for deep frying food. Our products are designed to be versatile and durable, making them suitable for various cooking methods, including deep frying.

You can safely use our pans and pots for deep frying. It is worth noting that our pans and pots can withstand temperatures of up to 260 degrees Celsius.

However, we still recommend closely monitoring the temperature and avoiding overheating the oil, as this may affect the quality of the coating. It is also important to consider the size of your pan or pot and avoid overfilling it with food, as this can impact the frying results.

With proper use and maintenance, our hybrid frying pans and pots can deliver excellent results when deep frying your favorite dishes.

Lids

Here you will find a selection of lids that fit perfectly with our pans and pots, allowing you to complete your set and enhance your cooking experience.

You may use blunt metal utensils in our frying pans and pots, as they will not damage the coating.

Sharp utensils can cause scratches or damage to the coating and should therefore be avoided to maintain the quality and lifespan of the pan or pot.

Our hybrid products are designed to be oven safe up to 260 degrees Celsius.

This allows you to use them in the oven for various cooking purposes such as roasting, baking, or slow cooking.

Our Zero products can withstand all oven temperatures.

Please note that the handles or grips will become hot, so use an oven glove when handling the product.

Our frying pans and pots are versatile and can be used on all types of stoves, including:

All our airfryers are made with a ceramic coating. This means there is no harmful coating in our airfryers.

Our current Airfryer models have a noise level of around 55 dB, measured at a distance of one meter. This noise level is relatively low and comparable to normal conversation or mild background noise.

A whole chicken can generally fit in all our air fryer models, but it depends on the size of the chicken you want to cook.

You can check the dimensions of the baskets in our air fryers here:

4 liter basket: 20 x 19 x 10.5 cm

6 liter basket: 22.5 x 22.5 x 12.22 cm

8 liter basket: 24.5 x 24.5 x 14.5 cm

Airfryer DUAL basket: 23 x 16.5 x 14.5 cm

Large 12L dual drawer: 49 x 31 x 16.5 cm

Kombi oven basket: Ø26.5 cm

If the chicken's dimensions do not exceed these, it will fit just fine :)

We offer the following models:

4L Airfryer

6L Airfryer

8L Airfryer

DUAL Airfryer with 2 baskets/1 large basket

When choosing an Airfryer, it is important to consider the size in relation to your household and cooking needs. Here are some guidelines that can help you make the right choice:

For 1–2 people: Our 4L and 6L Airfryer models are suitable options as they fit smaller portions and are ideal for individuals or couples.

For households with more than 2 people: Our 8L Airfryer is the best choice, as it can prepare significantly larger portions and meets the needs of a bigger family.

Flexibility and varying needs: Our Dual Airfryer is ideal for those who want flexibility and the ability to cook two different dishes simultaneously, which can halve the cooking time and make it easier to handle multiple dishes at once.

With this model, you can also purchase one large basket, which you can switch out with the 2 small baskets. Depending on what you need to prepare, you can simply swap the basket.

Our knife sharpener is ideal for ONYX COOKWARE™ knives (HRC 64) and our stainless steel knives made of 5Cr15MoV steel (HRC 58). They are easy to sharpen – even for beginners – and perfect for both new knife owners and those who want to learn to sharpen on their own.

Knives should be sharpened at an angle of 13° on each side or an angle of 26° when sharpening both sides simultaneously.

Important things to remember:

• Clean the knife thoroughly before sharpening.
• Keep the knife straight and stable during sharpening.
• Sharpen when the blade feels uneven or loses its sharpness.
• Place the sharpener on a flat surface.
• Guide the knife smoothly without pressing – let the sharpener do the work.

The knife sharpener is suitable for all knives.

Rockwell Scale

The Rockwell Scale (HRC) is the international standard for measuring the hardness of steel in kitchen knives.

Higher HRC = sharper knives

Better ability to maintain sharpness over time

5Cr15MoV Steel

5Cr15MoV steel is known for:

• Strength and durability
• Resistance to rust
• Ability to cut through many types of food without losing sharpness

Knives made from this steel are therefore reliable and popular among both chefs and cooking enthusiasts.

Our knives are available in two materials, each with its own unique properties.

The ceramic knives have an ergonomic, anti-slip ABS handle for a comfortable and secure grip. The blades have a steel core coated with titanium, providing a durable and sharp edge.

Our stainless steel knives have an ABS handle with rivets for stability and durability. The blade and cutting edge are made of 5Cr15MoV stainless steel, known for its long-lasting sharpness and resistance to corrosion.

These knives are built for daily use and deliver precise cuts for any cooking project.

Difference

The ceramic knives have a unique blend of ceramic and steel with an alloy, which gives them exceptional sharpness and durability.

Stainless steel knives are known for their resistance to rust and corrosion, as well as their long-lasting sharpness.

Similarity

Both types of knives have a good grip and are easy to use in the kitchen.

Yes, you can easily use a regular knife sharpener on both of our knife types. However, sharpening our ceramic knives may take a bit longer, as they are made of harder ceramic steel with a hardness of 64 HRC, compared to our stainless steel knives, which have a hardness of 58 HRC.

When you’re ready to use the oil spray, fill oil up to the “Max” line.

To make the oil spray work, it must first be activated. Do this by pumping air/pressure into the container about 5 times using the included lid to create pressure.

This ensures an even and consistent distribution of the oil. Once you’ve pumped, remove the lid, and you’re ready to spray! It’s as simple as that.

The defrosting plate works by absorbing heat or cold from your frozen food using a special aluminum alloy. It then spreads this heat or cold quickly and evenly throughout the food, thanks to a smart design. This means your frozen items defrost faster and more evenly, without the need for electricity or other cumbersome things.

For the defrosting plate to work best, there needs to be as much contact with the plate as possible. This means the food should be directly on the plate or in a freezer bag.

A plastic container or similar will be too thick to function optimally.

Yes, you can safely use blunt metal utensils on our pans and pots, as their robust surface is designed to withstand this. We even offer a utensil set that fits them perfectly.

It is important to note that this advice only applies to our pans and pots, as they have a strong and durable surface capable of withstanding the use of metal utensils.

However, please note that our airfryers have a different type of surface. For these, we recommend using utensils made of plastic, wood, or silicone to avoid damage and ensure longer lifespan.

To assemble the different parts on the food slicer, you must first place the removable blade in the blade holder with the tab on the left side. Make sure the blade clicks securely into place to ensure proper assembly.

How do the grill cylinders work?

The grill cylinders are actually very simple to use.

1. Start by preheating the grill.

2. While the grill heats up, prepare your ingredients and cut them into evenly sized pieces so they cook evenly. You can use vegetables, potatoes, chicken—only your imagination sets the limits.

You can also marinate the ingredients for extra flavor.

3. Place the food in the cylinder without overfilling it. There needs to be space for the heat to circulate.

4. Close the cylinder securely and place it directly on your grill. There are two small “holes” at the top of the cylinder where the lid can be locked in place.

It is only recommended that you tighten it carefully so that it is easy to remove again.

5. During cooking, turn or shake the basket regularly to ensure even grilling on all sides.

Also make sure to use a good oven glove, as the cylinders become very hot.

What is the accessory used for?

The rotisserie fork/skewer is the long metal rod with a handle used to grip the edge of the cylinder so it can be rotated evenly on the grill or on the grill stand.

You can also use it to move the ingredients around inside the cylinder while grilling.

The locking pin is used to open the cylinder while it is still hot or to remove the basket from our grill stand.

Cleaning our grill products and tools

Always allow the products to cool down after use.

Remove food residues with a grill brush or dish brush.

How does the grill stand work?

The grill stand only works with our large grill cylinder.

You can place the cylinder on the stand and have both products on the grill at the same time. Then you can use the included skewer to rotate the cylinder—similar to a rotisserie spit.

How do you use the grill pan and grill tray?

The grill pan works much like a regular frying pan that you can place on the grill.

The holes in the pan help distribute heat evenly and allow smoke to circulate, giving your food a great grilled flavor while preventing it from sticking.

Just like the grill pan, the grill tray works like a regular tray.

Place your ingredients in the tray (for example vegetables, fish, meat, potatoes, etc.) and place the tray directly on the grill.

How do the grill tools work?

BBQ Turner – Similar to a spatula. Use it to flip steaks and vegetables or move food around on the grill.

The turner also has a sharp edge that can be used for cutting and it can double as a bottle opener for capped drinks.

Grill Spatula – Similar to the BBQ turner. The main difference is that it has cutting edges on both sides—finer serrations as well as slightly coarser ones, for example for bread.

BBQ Silicone Brush – Used to apply marinade to meat or vegetables, both before and during grilling.

BBQ Steel Brush – Used to scrub your grill grate. Especially useful for removing old food residue and grease. The brush can be used before grilling to clean off leftover residue.

Yes, that’s perfectly fine! Just make sure that the thermometer’s probe is inserted all the way to the safety line in the meat, otherwise it may indicate overheating.

However, remember that the oven must not exceed 300°C to ensure the thermometer functions properly.

No, the infrared thermometer only measures surface temperature and is not suitable for measuring the internal temperature of meat. An infrared thermometer is used to measure surface temperatures, such as the temperature of your oven or pan, to know if it’s hot enough for the food you want to cook.

It is generally recommended to place the probe in the center of the meat to achieve the most accurate temperature measurement.

On the probe itself, there is a safety line that shows how far the probe should be inserted into the meat. You can take a closer look at how it should be inserted here:

Here’s a quick guide to setting your own temperature in the app:

1. Open the app and tap the "Preset Setup" button.
2. Now select "Range temp." to enter your desired temperature.
3. Enter the minimum and maximum temperature as well as the desired cooking time.
4. Choose the type of meat you are cooking from the list.
5. Once your settings are selected, press the "Start Cooking" button to begin.
6. If the temperature goes outside the set range or the time has elapsed, an alarm will sound and notify you.

This is how you can customize your cooking experience with the app!

When purchasing our DUAL Bluetooth thermometers, both thermometers arrive in one box with one dock that can charge both probes.

If you have a DUAL Bluetooth Meat Thermometer, you must first pair the dock. Once the dock is paired, it will automatically find the available probes. This means that if you have purchased a DUAL, both probes will automatically pair when the connection to the dock is established.

The probes are automatically paired with the dock, so depending on which you purchase, you will always have the probes automatically paired when the dock is registered.

The pairing procedure will also be described in the product manual or in our ToGrill app, available for both Android and iPhone.

The range of our Bluetooth thermometer is up to 10 meters without obstacles. That means no thick closed doors or walls.

The wireless thermometer has a measurement range of 60 meters.

The Bluetooth thermometer has a working time of up to 72 hours per charge and is recharged in just 20 minutes via the included dock.

The infrared thermometer uses two AAA batteries, providing approximately 9 hours of use.

Both our wireless thermometer and our Bluetooth thermometer must not be used in a microwave or vacuum.

However, you can safely use them in the oven and on the grill.

In our kitchen range, you will find a selection of thermometers, each offering different functionality and suited for different purposes.

The Bluetooth Meat Thermometer allows you to wirelessly monitor the temperature and cooking time via a companion app on your phone. It’s ideal for those who want to keep track of their dishes in the oven without being tied to the kitchen.

The Wireless Meat Thermometer comes with two separate probes, allowing you to monitor multiple cuts of meat at the same time, perfect for grilling enthusiasts or larger cooking sessions.

The Infrared Thermometer is designed for quick and precise surface temperature measurements. With this thermometer, you can easily test the temperature of the surface of various foods, such as a hot pizza stone or melted chocolate.

Whether you're an experienced cook or just enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, we have a thermometer that suits your needs and helps you achieve precise and flawless cooking.

It is generally not recommended to blend frozen fruits and vegetables in our portable blender, as it can be too hard on the blender’s blades and motor. Frozen fruits and vegetables are often very hard and can cause damage to the blender. In addition, it may result in an uneven blend and a lower quality of your smoothie, juice, or purée.

A possible solution is to slightly thaw frozen fruits and vegetables before blending them. This can reduce strain on the blender and result in a smoother and tastier mixture.

Yes, you can safely blend hard vegetables and fruits such as carrots in a blender. However, it is a good idea to cut hard vegetables and fruits into smaller pieces to make the process easier and achieve a more even blend.

It is also recommended to add liquid, such as water or juice, to your mixture to help achieve the desired consistency and prevent the blender from overloading.

Our Smart UV Thermos Bottle is extremely versatile and can hold any type of beverage you choose.

You can safely put both hot and cold drinks in the thermos. It is designed to keep liquids warm for several hours and cold for even longer. Soft drinks, milk, water, juice, tea, hot chocolate, and coffee are all suitable beverages for storage in the thermos.

It can purify a wide range of beverages such as water, juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and even soft drinks! Thanks to the smart UV lamp, it can kill up to 99% of harmful bacteria in the liquid.

However, there’s one small requirement – the liquid must be transparent so that the light can pass through. So if you’re planning to purify your regular drinking water or juice, you’re good to go!

The water that comes out of the coffee machine when brewing a cup of coffee is about 80°C hot. At this temperature, the coffee is brewed with the optimal flavor and aroma, ensuring a great coffee experience every time.

Additionally, 80°C is an ideal temperature that provides a warm and pleasant cup of coffee without being too hot to enjoy right away.

Yes, this coffee machine is a 3-in-1 hybrid capsule machine, which means you receive 3 different adapters with the coffee machine: A Dolce Gusto adapter, a Nespresso adapter, and an adapter for ground coffee.

The noise level of the coffee machine is 60 dB. This is equivalent to the sound of a normal conversation.

The power consumption of the coffee machine is only 1400W.

The kitchen scale has smart buttons that already know the general calorie content of certain foods.

So, when you weigh something, you can press the button that corresponds to the food you’re weighing. The scale will then give you an estimate of how many calories there are per gram in that food.

For example, if you weigh flour, the scale already knows the calories for wheat flour, so it can give you an idea of how many calories are in what you’re weighing.

For our gas burner, we recommend using butane gas. Butane is an ideal and efficient fuel for use in gas burners, as it burns with a reliable and consistent flame, which is important for achieving the desired cooking results.

During selected campaign periods, you will receive one or more free gifts whenever you purchase either a bundle or a product. Below you can find more information about what it means to receive one or more free gifts with your order.

🎁 What does this mean for you?

• You receive one or more extra gifts with your purchase – completely free
• This applies to both single products and bundle deals
• You get more value for your money, without paying extra

📦 How does it work?

• You choose your items as usual
• Place your order
• We make sure your free gift is included in the shipment

You will be able to see the gift in your cart before completing your purchase.

❓ Why does the discount appear larger than usual?

Even though the bundle costs the same as before, you may notice that the discount appears larger – and here’s why:

• We have added one or more free gifts 🎁
• The gifts have a regular price, which is included in the total value
• This increases the overall original price
• As a result, the discount percentage appears higher
